Terms & Conditions

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Abu Dhabi Card transportation services, website (abudhabicard.org), mobile application, and related services (collectively, the "Services") provided by Abu Dhabi Card ("we", "our", or "us").

By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Services.

2. Card Ownership and Usage

2.1 Card Ownership

The Abu Dhabi Card remains the property of Abu Dhabi Card at all times. We reserve the right to revoke or suspend card usage at our discretion, particularly in cases of misuse or violation of these Terms.

2.2 Card Registration

You may register your card to protect your balance in case of loss or theft. Registration requires providing accurate personal information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

2.3 Proper Use

You agree to:

  • Use the card only for its intended purpose of accessing transportation services
  • Present your card when requested by authorized personnel
  • Keep your card in good condition
  • Not tamper with, alter, or damage the card
  • Not transfer your card to another person if it is a personalized card

3. Fees and Payments

3.1 Card Purchase

The initial purchase price of the card is non-refundable. Different card types have different purchase fees as indicated at the time of purchase.

3.2 Card Balance

You may add value to your card at authorized locations or through our mobile application. Minimum and maximum load amounts may apply. Card balance is non-transferable and non-refundable except as required by law.

3.3 Fare Deduction

The appropriate fare will be automatically deducted when you use your card for transportation services. It is your responsibility to ensure your card has sufficient balance for your journey.

4. Card Validity and Expiration

Standard and Gold cards are valid for 5 years from the date of issue. Tourist cards are valid for 14 days. The expiry date is printed on the back of your card and can also be checked through our mobile app or website.

Any remaining balance on an expired card may be transferred to a new card within 90 days of expiration by visiting a customer service center.

5. Lost or Stolen Cards

If your card is lost or stolen:

  • For registered cards: Report the loss immediately through our customer service hotline or website. We will block the card and transfer the remaining balance to a new card (fees may apply).
  • For unregistered cards: We cannot block the card or transfer the balance. The card will be treated as lost, and any remaining balance cannot be recovered.

6. Refunds and Cancellations

Refunds are generally not available except in specific circumstances as determined by our refund policy. Administrative fees may apply to all refund requests.

We reserve the right to cancel or suspend your card if we detect fraudulent activity, violation of these Terms, or as required by law.

7. Website and Mobile Application

7.1 Account Registration

To access certain features of our website or mobile application, you may need to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information and for all activities that occur under your account.

7.2 Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use our Services for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of our Services
  • Interfere with or disrupt the operation of our Services
  • Collect or harvest any information from our Services
  • Introduce viruses, trojans, worms, or other malicious code

8. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of our Services, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, and software, are owned by Abu Dhabi Card or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, republish, download, store, or transmit any materials from our Services without our prior written consent.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Abu Dhabi Card shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Services.

10. Changes to Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The most current version will be posted on our website with the effective date. Your continued use of our Services after the posting of revised Terms means that you accept and agree to the changes.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Abu Dhabi.
